Properties and application:
Acetic acid, also known as acetic acid, glacial acetic acid, chemical formula CH3COOH, is an organic monic acid, as the main component of vinegar. Pure anhydrous acetic acid (glacial acetic acid) is a colorless, hygroscopic solid with a freezing point of 16.6℃ (62℉). After solidification, it becomes a colorless crystal. Its aqueous solution is weakly acidic and highly corrosive, and steam is irritating to eyes and nose.
Applications:
Widely used for preparation of vinegar anhydride, vinyl acetate, acetic ester, metal acetic acid salt, chloroacetic acid, cellulose acetate, etc., used in the production of ethyl acetate, edible spices, wine with spices used as analytical reagent, such as solvent and soaker.
