Sodium iodide Product Introduction:
Sodium iodide is an inorganic compound, chemical formula is NaI, molecular weight 149.89, colorless cubic crystal or white granular, is sodium carbonate or sodium hydroxide reaction with hydrogen iodate acid, then evaporation solution to form a white solid, anhydrous, dihydrate and pentahydrate. It is used as a raw material for iodine production in photography. The acidic solution of sodium iodide shows reductive properties due to the formation of hydroiodic acid, salty and slightly bitter, soluble in glycerol, with strong hygroscopic properties. In the air gradually hygroscopic to water content of 5%, can be oxidized by air iodine release and brown, aqueous solution is slightly alkaline, also has the same change, can be slightly alkali to maintain stability. The pH of the aqueous solution is 8 ~ 9.5. It should be kept away from light and sealed.
