P-tert-Butylphenol Introduction:

P-tert-butylphenol is also known as 4-tert-butylphenol (PTBP).  P-tert-butyl phenol is white or white flake solid at room temperature, with a special odor of alkyl phenol.  It burns in the presence of an open flame.  Flammable but non-flammable, it breaks down when heated and emits toxic gases.  Soluble in alcohols, esters, alkane, aromatic hydrocarbons and other organic solvents.  Slightly soluble in water, soluble in strong alkaline solutions.  This product has the common characteristics of phenolic substances, when exposed to light, heat, contact with air, color and lustre gradually deepened.  Toxic, moderate irritation to skin, mucous membranes and eyes.  Toxic to aquatic organisms and may cause long-term adverse effects on the aquatic environment.  It is mainly used for synthesizing p-tert-butyl phenolic resin.  It can also be used as an inhibitor and stabilizer.  The molecular formula is C10H14O.  

P-tert-Butylphenol usage:

P-tert-butylphenol has antioxidant properties and can be used as a stabilizer for rubber, soap, chlorinated hydrocarbons and digestion of fibers.  Uv absorbent, pesticide, rubber, coating and other anti-cracking agent.  For example, stabilizer for polycarbon resin, tert-butyl phenolic resin, epoxy resin, polyvinyl chloride, styrene.  In addition or manufacture insect repellent, pesticide acaricide ke mite special, spices, plant protection agent raw materials.  It can also be used as softener, solvent, additive for dye and paint, antioxidant for lubricating oil, demulsifier for oil field and additive for vehicle fuel.
