It is one of the simplest aromatic alcohols and can be regarded as phenyl-substituted methanol. It is found in nature in the form of esters in essential oils such as jasmine, hyacinth and Peruvian balsam.
Benzyl alcohol usage:
Used as paint solvent; ink solvent; plexiglass solvent; photographic developing agent; PVC stabilizer; synthetic resin solvent; ointment or liquid medicine; solvent for meat products stamp-pad ink and ball-point pen oil.
